Colorado House Republicans Honor the Legacy of Former Representative Rod Bockenfeld
(Denver, CO – April 14, 2025) – Today, the Colorado House of Representatives unanimously passed House Joint Memorial 25-1001, honoring the life and service of former Representative Rod Bockenfeld. Sponsored by House Minority Leader Rose Pugliese and Representative Chris Richardson, the memorial reflects on Bockenfeld’s decades of public service and the lasting impact he had on the state.
“Former Representative Rod Bockenfeld was a steadfast public servant who brought wisdom and fiscal discipline to every role he held,” said Minority Leader Pugliese. “He was deeply committed to the people of Colorado and always advocated for strong local governments.”
Assistant Minority Leader Ty Winter added, “Rod’s legacy is one of integrity and responsibility. He prioritized balanced budgets, education, and protecting taxpayers, especially through the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.”
Representative Chris Richardson, who viewed former Representative Bockenfeld as a strong mentor during his time as a commissioner, said, “Rod led with a rare mix of conviction and humility. His deep understanding of local government and fiscal policy made him a powerful advocate for his constituents. I was proud to serve with him and call him a friend.”
Representative Bockenfeld served three terms in the legislature following a long career in banking, business, and local government. Known for his love of family and country, he was proud of his roots, his service, and the values he brought to the Capitol.
