House Republicans Honor Veterans and Military Service with Series of Resolutions

(Denver, CO – February 7, 2025) – Today, Members of the House Veterans Caucus presented a series of resolutions on the House floor recognizing the service and sacrifice of Colorado’s veterans, military personnel, and their families. These resolutions honor those who have served in conflicts from World War II to the Persian Gulf War, as well as specific groups such as Gold Star families, POW/MIA service members, and the distinguished 10th Mountain Division.

"Colorado has a rich history of military service, and it is our duty to recognize and honor the men and women who have defended our freedoms," said Representative Ryan Armagost (HD 21), sponsor of the resolution honoring Gold Star families. "These families have made the ultimate sacrifice, and we must never forget their loss and the price of our liberty."

The resolutions include:

  • HJR25-1010 – Recognizing Military Appreciation Day (Rep. Jarvis Caldwell)

  • HJR25-1011 – Honoring Gold Star families (Rep. Ryan Armagost)

  • HJR25-1012 – Recognizing the 57th anniversary of the capture of the U.S.S. Pueblo by North Korea (Rep. Stephanie Luck)

  • HJR25-1013 – Honoring Colorado veterans on the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II (Rep. Rebecca Keltie)

  • HJR25-1014 – Recognizing and remembering Colorado veterans who served in the Vietnam War (Rep. Chris Richardson)

  • HJR25-1015 – Honoring Korean War veterans (Rep. Rebecca Keltie)

  • HJR25-1016 – Recognizing and remembering Colorado veterans who served in the Persian Gulf War (Rep. Anthony Hartsook)

  • HJR25-1017 – Honoring the 10th Mountain Division of Colorado (Rep. Rebecca Keltie)

  • HJR25-1018 – Recognizing the contributions of Latino and Latina veterans (Rep. Carlos Barron)

  • HJR25-1019 – Recognizing the contributions of Native American veterans (Rep. Larry Don Suckla)

"From World War II to present-day conflicts, Colorado’s veterans and military personnel have played a critical role in defending our nation, our freedoms, and our hopes for the future," said Representative Anthony Hartsook (HD 44), sponsor of the resolution recognizing Persian Gulf War veterans. "These resolutions serve as a small but meaningful way to express our gratitude and ensure their sacrifices are never forgotten."
