House Republican Leaders Commend SCOTUS for their Decision
(Colorado State Capitol, March 4, 2024) -- Today, leaders of the House Republican Caucus commend the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) for unanimously rejecting the frivolous attempt to bar former President Donald Trump from the 2024 Colorado primary ballot.
"The Secretary of State has been playing partisan politics with her office by making public statements about former President Trump instead of remaining neutral and unbiased as is required from the state's Chief Elections Officer," said Minority Leader Rose Pugliese (R-Colorado Springs). "I am thankful the Supreme Court of the United States unanimously upheld Coloradans' constitutional rights to choose their candidate for President," added Pugliese.
"The Secretary of State has shown she is more interested in entertaining political commentary rather than restoring confidence in our elections," said Assistant Minority Leader Ty Winter (R-Trinidad). "We are thankful that the Supreme Court has removed the uncertainty for many Coloradans that their votes will be counted towards their preferred candidate," concluded Winter.
