Gabe Evans is a Christian and Colorado native. After graduating cum laude from Patrick Henry College with a degree in Government-Strategic Intelligence, he served 12 years in the US Army and Colorado Army National Guard as a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot in command and a school-trained military intelligence officer. A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, he also has responded to wildfires and other disasters in Colorado. In his final military assignment, he commanded both Alpha Company, 2-135th Aviation Battalion at Buckley Air Force Base, and Colorado Task Force Aviation, which oversees all military aviation assets assigned to battling wildfires in the State of Colorado. 

Gabe also served for 10 years at the Arvada Police Department as an officer, sergeant, and lieutenant. His experience includes serving as the regional coordinator for the 1st Judicial District’s Critical Accident Response Team, platoon commander for the Mobile Field Force, and night shift watch commander. Other assignments include Honor Guard lieutenant, Peer Support commander, code enforcement and animal management supervisor, field training officer, lead driving instructor, and law enforcement firearms instructor. Due to his work, in 2020 he was a keynote speaker at the national Transforming Local Governments conference. 

Gabe was first elected to represent Colorado House District 48 in 2022. When not at the State Capitol, he works as an NRA certified firearms instructor. He and his wife live on a small farm in southern Weld County where they homeschool their two boys.
