Representative Winter on New Law Preserving Fire Fighter Funds
(Denver, CO - June 6, 2024) - Representative Winter announced that HB24-1319, "Fire Fighters License Plate Expiration on Transfer," has been signed into law. This bill modifies regulations for the Colorado professional fire fighters license plate, stipulating that it will expire upon the transfer of a motor vehicle.
"HB24-1319 ensures proper management and reissuance of fire fighters' license plates," said Representative Winter. "By updating this regulation, we continue to support the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters Foundation."
HB24-1319 allows affected individuals to reapply for the license plate by meeting application criteria and paying necessary fees. The bill maintains revenue generation for the CPFF Foundation, which aids firefighters and their families.
"Ensuring these funds continue to support our firefighters is crucial," added Winter. "This minor change helps maintain the mission of providing aid to those who serve our communities."
With HB24-1319, Colorado reaffirms its commitment to supporting firefighters and their families through consistent and effective management of specialty license plates.
