House Minority Leader Announces Appointments to Property Tax Task Force
(Colorado State Capitol, December 6, 2023) -- Today, House Minority Leader Mike Lynch (R-Wellington) announced his three appointments to the Property Tax Task Force created from HB23B-1003 during the Extraordinary Session. These appointments are:
Representative Lisa Frizell (R-Castle Rock) - Rep. Frizell previously served two terms as Douglas County Assessor, and over twenty-four years in the Assessor’s Office. She currently represents HD-45.
Commissioner Chris Richardson - Com. Richardson currently serves on the Elbert County Board of Commissioners. He has been a stalwart leader in the fight to lower property taxes including testifying during the Extraordinary Session.
Mr. Sean Dougherty - Mr. Dougherty is a realtor based out of Fort Collins, CO. He is currently an active member of the National Association of Realtors and the Colorado Association of Realtors. Previously, he served as a Larimer County Commissioner.
“The state plays a very limited role in the collection of property taxes and few in the legislature have that real-world experience,” said Rep. Lynch. “We will continue to stress the importance of having citizens with that experience to being given a seat at the table to create responsible and substantive property tax relief for all Coloradans; our appointments here do exactly that,” added Lynch.
“The conversations around property taxes during this past special session unfortunately fell along party lines,” said Rep. Frizell. “Our hope is this task force will finally produce bipartisan solutions to this complicated and important issue. This task force is a real opportunity to put partisanship aside and work across the aisle and I hope my fellow appointees embrace that opportunity,” concluded Frizell.
