Representatives Stand with District Attorney-Elect George Brauchler on Public Safety Priorities
(Denver, CO – December 19, 2024) – Representatives Anthony Hartsook, Brandi Bradley, and Representative-Elect Max Brooks joined DA-Elect George Brauchler and law enforcement leaders yesterday, addressing the urgent public safety crisis in Colorado’s new 23rd Judicial District.
“Our community faces unprecedented challenges, with Colorado ranking 8th in violent crime and 4th in both auto thefts and combined violent and property crime rates,” said Representative Anthony Hartsook. “This is unacceptable, and it is our responsibility to ensure that safety and justice are prioritized.”
The conversation reinforced a firm stance against criminal activity in the 23rd Judicial District, emphasizing the values of accountability, respect for law enforcement, and community safety. DA-Elect Brauchler made clear that permissive attitudes toward crime have no place here.
Representative Brandi Bradley highlighted the critical role of local leaders in supporting law enforcement. “The message from voters is clear: they demand safety and justice. Sheriffs and district attorneys are entrusted with the highest votes because communities want leaders who take crime seriously and protect their freedoms.”
Representative-Elect Max Brooks also emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving safer communities. “Whether you live, work, or visit here, you deserve to feel safe. We choose to support law enforcement because they are the cornerstone of liberty and security for every family.”
The event underscored the importance of tough consequences for criminal behavior, with a focus on accountability, redemption, and recovery. Brauchler’s promise to hold those who harm law enforcement accountable resonated with attendees, as did his commitment to incarceration for repeat offenders.
“Our communities will not be a haven for crime,” added Representative Bradley. “We stand with our law enforcement officers and DA-Elect Brauchler to send a clear message: safety and justice are the foundation of a thriving district.”
Representatives Hartsook, Bradley, and Representative-Elect Brooks remain dedicated to prioritizing public safety and supporting initiatives that uphold accountability, dignity, and the rule of law.
