Rep. Frizell on New Law to Streamline Liquor Licenses
Denver, CO - June 5, 2024 - Representative Lisa Frizell announced that SB24-231, "Alcohol Beverage Liquor Advisory Group Recommendations," has become law. Sponsored by Representatives Frizell and Snyder, along with Senators Rodriguez and Gardner, the bill modernizes liquor licensing and regulation in Colorado.
SB24-231 implements recommendations from the Liquor Advisory Group, convened by the Department of Revenue in response to Governor Jared Polis' request in 2022. The group aimed to update Colorado's liquor laws to support businesses and ensure public safety.
"Modernizing our liquor laws is essential for supporting our local businesses and ensuring public safety," said Representative Frizell. "This bill addresses the evolving needs of the industry and consumers."
The advisory group reviewed existing laws, aiming to reduce complexities, contradictions, and foster a clear and logical regulatory framework.
"These changes provide the clarity and consistency needed for businesses to thrive," added Frizell. "By incorporating feedback from various stakeholders, we've created a more effective and fair regulatory environment."
With SB24-231, Colorado enhances its commitment to a robust and compliant alcoholic beverage industry.
